Between Us

“Actions speak louder than words” is a common quote we hear that is full of truth. As a family, you are able to create strong bonds through habitual practices and the current pandemic has allowed mine to temporarily decelerate our busy lives and appreciate each other’s presence.

My mother has carried the role of both parents as she raised my sisters and I on her own. She has been the comfort and strength of the family. We sometimes fight and isolate ourselves, but always find our way back to each other in the end. Whether far or near, our connection remains and goes far beyond the sharing of blood.

My purpose is to show a glimpse of reality within our walls with an emphasis on motions or gestures we would engage in, whether individually or together. Truly evoking the emotions we experience as we engage in these actions helps us reflect upon our bond. Acknowledging and capturing these moments serves as a way to recognize and develop further appreciation for even the smallest moments of interaction.
